Our adult classes offer an ongoing schedule with open registration – you may join at any time.
We have no specific dress code for adult dance classes, but ballet slippers should be purchased if you commit to attending a ballet class. Socks can be worn for one time to try the class. See more details with each class description.
Stretch & Strengthen is a dance/exercise class with an emphasis on developing flexibility and strength. It uses Dance-based, Pilates-based, and Yoga-based exercises, choreographed to music. The class includes standing exercises and floor exercises to strengthen and stretch the muscles, but no traveling combinations. No previous experience is necessary – class exercises can be easily modified to the individual’s own level.
"Work-out" clothing of leggings, shorts, or stretch pants with a t-shirt and bare feet are the usual attire for all participants. Long hair should be pulled back away from the face and dangling jewelry is discouraged.
Ballet classes, using traditional French ballet vocabulary, will follow the traditional class format of barre exercises, center floor exercises plus turning and traveling exercises. “Intermediate/Advanced” Ballet class is designed for participants with several years experience in ballet. "Elementary" or "Beginner/Advanced Beginner" Ballet class is a more basic level for those with less experience, or those returning to ballet class after some time away.
Long hair should be pulled back & up, away from the face and neck, and dangling jewelry is discouraged.
Traditional Ballet class clothing for Women is a leotard, tights, and ballet slippers, possibly with a ballet skirt, but snug "work-out" clothing of leggings and a t-shirt is also acceptable. For Men in ballet class, typical "work-out" clothing of a Tee-shirt plus stretchy pants +/ or shorts/bike shorts +/or men's tights are acceptable.
Please be comfortable, and wear stretchable clothing in which you can move!
